WHAT IS SONOHYSTEROGRAPHY?
It is a diagnostic imaging technique in which are used ultrasound to assess the interior of the uterine cavity. It consists in the introduction of a cannula through the cervix into the uterine cavity and subsequent introduction of the ultrasound probe into the vagina. It is as if we could perform a transvaginal ultrasound normal.
Subsequently pour a saline solution through the cannula and using ultrasound you get to see the endometrial cavity. The saline solution causes the walls of endometrial separate for a better visual.
Sonohysterography is not painful, this test is performed in consultation and it is as if you will make a transvaginal ultrasound usual.
