- Women with low fertility with their own oocytes, either by the natural loss of fertility associated with age, or by other problems.
- Women with previous failures of IVF with their own oocytes.
- Women with ovarian failure by menopause, premature ovarian failure or surgery ovarian.
- Women who cannot use their own eggs, either because of poor quality or hereditary diseases that cannot be detected by techniques of PGD.
STAGES OF IVF WITH EGG DONATION
The recipient mother usually follows a hormone replacement therapy to achieve a receptive endometrium, and thus facilitate the implantation of the embryos that will be transferred. In case the egg donation is performed with fresh eggs, donor and recipient are prepared in a parallel way, though without knowing each other. In case of a transfer of frozen eggs, looking for the donor is more suited to the receiver, then the mother decides when to start the process.
For the acceptance of a woman as a donor will be required to have successfully passed a comprehensive and rigorous analysis, which includes a medical examination (visit with anamnesis, gynecological examination and ultrasound), a visit to psychological and analytical controls designed to minimize the risk of transmission of hereditary and infectious diseases (AIDS, hepatitis, toxoplasmosis, syphilis, rubella, herpes virus, cytomegalovirus, gonorrhoea, chlamydia).
The oocytes retrieved from the donor, get passed at the disposal of the recipient couple and are inseminated or microinjected with sperm from the male of the recipient couple, or if that was the case, with donor semen. Subsequently, the embryos obtained were transferred into the uterus of the recipient or can be frozen.
Once you have accepted a donor in the program "LATIDonación", the donor formalizes a consent by writing, specifying the voluntariness, the purposes and the consequences of donating. It also specifies that in all legal purposes, the receiver of the oocytes will be the legal mother of the child conceived in case of pregnancy. The choice of the donor, suitable for a woman or couple receiving, understand the compatibility of blood group and Rh, and will also seek the highest similarity possible physical (weight, height, color of eyes, hair, etc). The donation is anonymous, and that the recipient couple will not know the identity of the donor and vice versa.
